This project involved remodeling a kitchen from the ’70s. The customer was excited about the idea of a new kitchen, but expressed concerns about the floor. At the time, it was a vinyl floor that sloped down 1.5 inches across the length of the room. There’s typically some sloping in older homes, but not usually to this extent.
When we started demolition, we discovered that there was a leak in the wall behind the sink. Over time, the water had run down the wall, into the floor, and had caused considerable damage. While communication is always important, it was especially critical in a situation like this. We communicated the extent of the damage and walked them through our recommendations for how to address it. We made sure to update the customer at every major step forward, so that everyone was on the same page. Not only did the project look great when we were finished, but the customer was so happy, they continue to call us back for more projects around the house, and we’ve become close friends!

One of our other customers was a young couple in their first home. Excited to make it their own, they turned their attention to the kitchen, envisioning a space where they could cook together, entertain guests, and create memories. However, as first-time homeowners, they were mindful of their budget constraints and knew they needed to approach the remodeling project with careful consideration.
The couple had grand ideas for their kitchen, but they were determined to keep the costs reasonable. After consulting with us, they decided to maintain the existing footprint of the kitchen to avoid expensive structural, plumbing, and electrical changes. This decision not only helped to keep the budget in check but also minimized the disruption to their daily lives during the renovation process.
Throughout the project, we worked closely with them to understand their vision and prioritize their needs. Together, we explored various design options and materials that would enhance the functionality and aesthetics of their kitchen without breaking the bank. From selecting durable countertops to choosing cost-effective flooring solutions, every decision was made with their budget in mind.
Despite the occasional challenges that arose along the way, they stayed positive, trusting in our expertise to deliver a kitchen that exceeded their expectations.
In the end, they were ecstatic with the transformation of their kitchen. Despite sticking to a reasonable budget, they marveled at how the space had been completely revitalized, reflecting their personal style and preferences. With its modern amenities and inviting atmosphere, their new kitchen became the heart of their home, a place where they could gather with family and friends to share meals and create cherished memories.
Through careful planning, open communication, and strategic decision-making, we were able to demonstrate that remodeling a kitchen doesn’t have to break the bank. This couple’s experience serves as a testament to the fact that with the right approach, it’s possible to achieve a stunning kitchen renovation that not only enhances the enjoyment of their home but also adds value to their property in the long run.
